Lake Gérardmer is the largest natural lake in the Vosges mountain range. A listed tourist resort, Gérardmer is known as the Pearl of the Vosges. It is tucked between the lake, forests and mountain in the heart of the Lake Valley. Gérardmer is a lively, festive town and has long been the draw card for Lorraine tourism. A charming town, it has everything to entice lovers of nature and the outdoors as well as sporting activity enthusiasts - in all seasons.
In winter, Gérardmer becomes a lovely winter sport resort with downhill and cross-country ski fields as well as a casino, pool, cinema, games library and ice skating rink. Fantasy film enthusiasts gather there every year in late January or early February for the International Fantasy Film Festival. And the large biennial flower parade held in mid-April is a feast for the eyes.
